Last year, close to 6,500 riders joined the biggest bike event in Queensland. The B2GC is now in its 12th year, which will not only raise funds to combat heart disease, but also supports advocacy for better infrastructure and safer bike riding in Queensland. Between 5:15 am and 6:30 am, bikers will leave progressively from the start site on Grey St. They will enjoy an uninterrupted and traffic-free ride on the South East Busway for the first 17km all the way to Rochedale. After exiting the South East Busway, the course then follows service and suburban roads to Broadwater Parklands at Southport on the Gold Coast with a number of rest stops in between. Brisbane to Gold Coast Cycle Challenge 2016 raises awareness of cycling and it’s positive health benefits. This event supports the Heart Foundation via fundraising through Everyday Hero.
