Your New Patient Experience
Visiting a new dentist for the first time can sometimes be a bit unnerving. Here, you’ll find a dental care team that’s focused just as much on patient relationships as we are the health of your mouth. As we take the time to get to know you, we’ll be better able to address your dental needs. Spending more time with our patients ensures better communication and a higher level of trust.
Your New Patient Experience
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time to complete our registration forms, and allow up to 45 minutes for the initial visit. Please bring in your health fund membership card and, if you have a complex medical history, a list of your medications.
Focusing on Your Goals
During your first visit, our primary goal is to listen to your concerns, address existing oral health problems, and work together to formulate a patient-centred care plan. Whether you’re hoping to invest in complete oral rehabilitation, removal of amalgam fillings safely, or request a cosmetic makeover, your goals are ours.
Our team of dentists has extensive experience and training in all areas of dentistry, ensuring cohesive decisions that are in your best interest. From pain relief to flexible financing, we work to ensure an experience that gets ahead of your oral health needs before they become major problems.
Always Know What to Expect
Always Know What to Expect
We’ll have you fill out paperwork on an iPad, which is uploaded directly to your patient file. You’ll meet your dentist, who will sit down to have a chat with you. We’ll discuss your dental history and what’s brought you in, then start on a comprehensive examination. We check your entire mouth, taking pictures of your teeth with an intraoral camera, and take X-rays with our OPG machine.
Then, we’ll go through all results with you, explaining so that you understand the state of your oral health. If further treatment needs to be done, we’ll detail your options. Your dentist will also advise you on your oral hygiene. If there is no further treatment required, we’ll proceed with a cleaning. Otherwise, we’ll set you up with any more necessary appointments and do a cleaning on a follow-up appointment.
Patient’s Confomfort at Its Finest
As much as we love coming to work, we understand that not everybody has such a positive view of dentists! Often this is due to previous negative experiences elsewhere. We work hard to make your visit more pleasant with unique services provided, such as
- We supply cream to protect your lips and dark glasses from shielding your eyes
- Ceiling-mounted TV screens and noise-canceling headphones. These allow you to watch a movie or listen to music while undergoing treatment
- If you need an anesthetic injection, we first use an anesthetic cream to numb your gum and minimise discomfort. We administer the anesthetic very gently and can even warm it to body temperature so you don’t feel a sting
- Nitrous Oxide (Happy Gas) or prescription medications for dental anxiety and comfort
- Blankets, pillows, and heated eye masks
- Comprehensive dental examination (011)
- Dental X-rays (as many as indicated) (022)
- Professional scale, clean and polish- Basic with no periodontal disease (114)
- Fluoride application (121)
- Photos of inside of your mouth (072)
- Photos of outside of your mouth (073)
- 3D 3-Shape Trios Scan to create a virtual copy of your mouth
- Cancer screening
- Tempero-mandibular joint assessment
- Smile assessment
- Oral hygiene and dietary advice (141)
